ORoLoC3D
The project “Optimized Routing with 3D Loading Constraints (ORoLoC3D)”, SMIS code 336035 is funded through the 2021–2027 Regional Programme, under the VInnovate 2024 call, aligned with the interregional VInnovate mechanism developed within the Vanguard Initiative (www.s3vanguardinitiative.eu). The project is implemented by OPTIMATHR COMPUTING SOLUTIONS SRL and has a total value of 221.987,92 EUR. Of this amount, 199.789,00 EUR represents non-reimbursable funding, of which 169.820,65 EUR comes from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The 2021–2027 Regional Programme is implemented at the regional level by the North-East Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord-Est) in its role as Managing Authority, which oversees the implementation of this project in the North-East Region. The project is scheduled to run from March 28, 2025, to October 28, 2027.
The general objective of the project is to develop and validate an innovative prototype: the logistics optimization application developed by OptimathR (ORoLoC3D), advancing it from TRL 7 to TRL 8 intended for use in industries undergoing smart and sustainable transition, in order to support SMEs in the North-East Region in adopting new advanced technologies, improving operational efficiency and economic performance. Through interregional collaboration and the use of artificial intelligence and advanced optimization solutions, the project will contribute to strengthening the company’s innovation capabilities, preparing it for scaling and commercialization in a globally competitive environment.
The project is expected to deliver the following results:
- A new (software) product . ORoLoC3D is a software product with new features (simultaneous optimization of delivery and loading) compared to similar products on the European market.
- A new process. ORoLoC3D is an essential component in the digitalization of logistics departments. The adoption of our product within a company also involves a series of long-term beneficial transformations: it supports and encourages the company to collect production data in a standardized format, facilitates information exchange between departments, and leads to a more transparent decision-making process.
- Two scientific publications or papers in indexed journals, with author/co-author from the project implementation team and in the RIS3 domains targeted by the project.
- Two trademark registration applications.
The project is developed through interregional collaboration with the AI Research and Innovation Center (AIRI) of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (UNIMORE), a research partner contributing to the validation and consolidation of ORoLoC3D’s technical development directions.
